Challenge Day 1 Knitted Bow

For my Creative Every Day Challenge Month
I have a knitted bow

I made two of these for my daughters
very easy

I used knitting needles # 4mm
and a Needlepoint yarn that I found at a Goodwill
it says Persian type yarn

I am sure this yarn wasn't meant to knit with
but I know they like this color :)

Anyways, here are the instructions to make the bow:

For the main section:
cast on 8 sts
work in garter st (knit every row)
until the strip measures around 6 in. (16cm)
bind off.
Sew the edges together forming the oval like for the bow part
I used the same yarn and a blue plastic needle for the sewing part.

Now for the center of the bow
cast 4 sts
work in garter st until it measures 2 1/2 in.
bind off.

Making sure that the seams stay in the center
pinching the middle of the main section (bow)
place the center band into position and sew the back.

You can sew the bow into a hair clip
a headband, or just a ribbon to tie around your hair :)

So that's my creativity for today :)

I hope you like it
Come and visit me sometime,

Love to hear from you
Comments make me happy,

Thanks :)

  1. Wow, I like this. I don't knit or crochet anymore, but I sure like what you have made this first day of AEDM.

  2. Hi Clemencia. The fun of making things is precisely using it in a way it was not originally intended. I like the bows, and the knitting does not sound very hard so I'll try it some time. Keep going!
