My Pinterest Finds

When I take a break from all the things I do, I usually read my e-mail or just relax looking at Pinterest trying to see what to choose for my next project, but there are soooo many cute things that your mind goes crazy, look what I found (that I like) in Pinterest

These bookmarks are made out of paper clay, awesome activity for an older child and you together :)

And these ones are just adorable, made out of felt, the site is in Portuguese but under this picture you'll find a link that is in English telling where you can find the pattern :)

o.k. Wild Olive just takes one of the top sites for me, I love making things by hand, and sewing even more, I love making small stuff, and I love coffee, so there you go, this is just ME!

Mason Jars are just awesome, at the beginning I couldn't see the beauty of them, but my daughter really likes them, so I started looking for things that she can make in her little time off, then I started liking them more and more :) These are so cute you can use them to embellish anything :)

Thanks for visiting :)

What I learned today :)

This is what I learned today,
On my PSPX2 I learned to play with brushes and add pictures inside of frames,
it might be pretty basic for a lot of people, but PSP has soooo many features
that it's pretty exciting to make new layouts.

I need to learn how to combine colors better
but I am working on it right now too :)

Any advice? I love constructive criticism :)

What would you be if you could be whatever you wanted to be?

I decided to play this little game with Ginger from Love from Ginger blog and she asked this question which made me think...

I think I would be a Model or a Preschool Owner, when I was 17 I model in my country, Ecuador, and won a few contests; my mom saw that this was not just a passtime or hobby for me, so she put a stop to it lol I don't blame her, she was just protecting me; then I came to the States and became a Hairdresser and had the opportunity to model for a Hair Show, nothing big, just a State Hair Show where I felt like in heaven, I loved it! but then I got pregnant and that was it, no more modeling for me, my choice, my family became my priority, which is still like that :)

But at 17 I had another dream also, I lived near a Preschool and I loved looking at the parents dropping off their child to school, since then I wanted to have my own Preschool. When I had my second child I stayed home and studied to be a Preschool Teacher, changed careers and practiced too, loved it also!!!
But things here in Florida are not as easy as saying I am going to open my own Preschool. So to make a long story very short, we'll keep it as that :)

But dreams are not done! Now I am a stay at home mom and this thought in my head has been lingering for a while now, I want to open my own online business where I can sell what I make, my Art, Crafts and Scrap kits.  And that's what I want to be if I could be whatever I wanted to be :)

Building a Bunny House

This is what it has been keeping me busy for the last couple of weeks

We are separating an area for our bunny to live in, since we live in Florida he can be outside most of the time, but since he likes to dig! we have to go through a process.

First we had to mark the area, then we had to take the grass out and dig down

to put chicken wire on the bottom, since they dig they'll escape if the wire is not there
(believe me, it already happened to us)

We also dig a few holes to put the posts (4x4) with cement to hold the fence that we are going to put as walls

When we are done putting the wire on the ground and the fence on the sides, we have to connect them, and put some sand and grass on top for bunny to have a living area of his own, but now we are stuck since it's raining so much here in Florida :(

I'll post some pictures when we are done :)

Thanks so much for reading, I know this is not artsy or crafty, but I had to take pictures and make a layout of such a hard work lol

Right Brain Left Brain

I've been really curious lately about what creativity has to do with the right and left side of the brain

so I did a search to take a test for it and I found this one here for free :) it only took a couple of minutes to do it and I am SO amazed with the results:

It says that I am 60% Left Brain and 40% Right Brain

But when I really, really think about it, it might be right lol

I am a hairdresser who practice for nearly 12 years then I had my second daughter and decided to be a preschool teacher which I did for 6 years, the hairdressing career falls under being creative and the preschool teacher falls under math and science, I love doing both things but when it comes to my hobby is all art, what's up with that?

Aren't I supposed to use my right brain more? lol

Would you take the test and come back and share with me your results? :)

Mini Layout Challenge Day 5

Due to the lack of pictures of when I was a child, I haven't been able to do The Big Idea Festival Challenge in order, but here is my Day 5 Challenge

One of the themes you get to choose from is "iconic candies" as you see here there are lots of them that you might not recognize, thank goodness for the internet where I found the pictures of candy from my country, Ecuador, like

Tango which is out Oreos, with the difference that instead of being a chocolate cookies, the cookies are vanilla with a chocolate cover,
then we have the Chiclets (bubble gum),
Salvavidas (Lifesavers)
The candy corns from here which we bought everytime we came to the States and take them to Ecuador,
and last but not least the candy on the bottom right corner are Chinese candy that my Grandfather gave us everytime we went to his house :) (sigh) they had a rice paper cover that melted in your mouth, so delicous, I miss them :)

Hope you like it, thanks for stopping by :)

Mini Layout

I am participating at The Big Idea Festival

Big Picture Classes

and the lack of pictures of my childhood is amazing lol
Anyways here is my layout about my memories at my grandparents house... sigh,
All the love they gave us :)

One of my grandparents "Pancho" had a little tiendita, the corner store in his house, and everytime we went to visit He would give us a pack of cookies "galletas amor" but not just that, He would let us (my sister and me) sit on his lap and eat them with him so mom wouldn't complain or take it away from us lol so funny.

And my other grandfather from my mother's side "Enrique" He had a little hardware store adjacent to his house, but He had some special candy for us, from China (he was born there) the candy had a drawing of a little bunny and it had rice paper inside... so delicious!

Thanks for reading, and thanks for this challenge bringing so many good memories of my childhood :)

On My Bedside

Just for fun I decided to take a picture of what I have on my bedside, sometimes, well most of the time, I don't watch TV, so I just sit next to my husband and start creating something, either art, drawing, crochet, knit, hand sewing, whatever I feel like doing that night, so you can imagine I have a lot of projects going in my head, but usually I don't start one until I finished what I started, I love to see the projects finished :)
So here is my art carry all, it started as a travel art journal kit that I made myself but I couldn't take it on my trip, so I left it next to my bed and is working fine there :)

As you can see it has a little bit of everything, all very basic stuff
glue, mini notebooks, pens, pencils, eraser, colored pencils, watercolors, markers, brushes, ruler, hole puncher, sponge brush, chalk, and a few paper clips.
How do you like that? :)

Completely Handmade Sunglass Case

I finally worked on my sunglass case, I've been wanting one for quite a while, I actually bought one that was the right size for my sunglasses but when I tried to close it, it wouldn't close, my sunglasses where too wide for it, so I decided to make my own, and here is what I got

I followed this tutorial that I have on my pinterest board "Crochet"

The only thing I did different is that I sewed the fabric by hand (I don't use the sewing machine at all) instead of gluing it, it seems more professional with a better finish to it.

What do you think?

Do You like it?

Thanks for looking :)
