One Word For 2015

This is something new for me also, choosing a word for a whole year. The first time I read about choosing a word for the whole year my mind started spinning... but once I kept on going with my housework activities, this word kept on popping on my head... Then I figure, why not go for it.

It goes together with my new year resolution, can you guess what my word is...?

plain and simple lol but with a lot of weight on it :)

Do you have a word for 2015? Come and share leaving a comment below :)

Take care,

Help Me Please... I Help You... New Year Resolution

I have never done this before, I have never set a New Year Resolution,
mostly because I always so that people never stick to it.
By the second or third week after the New Year celebration
people start forgetting about their New Year Resolution
for one reason or another they could never stick to it, year after year.
So I opted for not setting one up for myself.

But this year I wanted to be different...

I am setting a New Year Resolution for the first time in my life (and I am 42 :))
but I am realistic and I know I need your help
I need you to bug me about making this resolution a reality,
of course if you ask me the same, I definitely will.

I need you to hold me accountable for my promise.

So how do we do this? How do we stick with our new year resolution?
Gabrielle Bernstein (by the biggest coincidence in the world) released a video a couple of days ago (as I started writing this post) about the # 1 tool for making resolutions stick!
and the answer is:

                                        Daily repetition

What is my New Year Resolution you ask?
To learn as much as I can about Art, Crafts and things Handmade which is what I enjoy most, is what I am passionate about and to teach as much as I know and as much as I learn to all of you, to my community online :)

Are you with me?

I would love to know... What Is Your New Year Resolution?
Please leave a comment below with your answer or if you don't have one yet, just leave a comment with the first thing that comes to your mind :)

A Sketch

Sketching is something I seem to do good but I haven't actually put it in practice much.
I love the feeling of peace when I draw things that I see, so quiet and peaceful, I think I'll do this more often. :)

Learning From My Daughter

My daughter's school had an open house and her art was one of the chosen for the exhibition.

Wow! I am thinking... how brave! How brave of her to paint on canvas, something that mom (I) haven't try before.  Her innocence and courage has enlighten me to be brave and explore outside my comfort zone.

When you think about it, what can go wrong? Nothing! absolutely nothing!
If you make a mistake fix it or do it again, is that simple.
It just gives you more practice and experience.

Well, that's all for now...
Thanks for stopping by,

A Lesson With Every Experience

Yesterday I learned a lesson... an experience that it has repeated in my life over and over again and I am finally saying to myself... enough is enough.

I work a part time job Monday through Friday but I didn't work yesterday (long story) so I decided to catch up with my house work. I am very dedicated to my family and I cook every night to be able to eat healthy meals for which I needed to start my day by going shopping.

Well, I ended up going shopping for food to three different places, they are all close to each other but still it took a couple of hours to do all that, then I came home and decided to clean the refrigerator to see what leftover did we have and make different meals out of them. So that took me into cooking and might as well since I was there, cook dinner too.

Next thing I know I had to go pick up my daughter from school, help her with homework, science project, etc.

Then my husband gets home criticizes her project, help us get it right (I hate science) lol while I am serving dinner and the whole shebang. After dinner was done, we put everything away, wash dishes, etc. etc.

By now I super tired, sleepy, out of energy. I didn't want to do any of the things that I love to do, not even blogging :( so all I did was lay down on my bed and make an effort to read, but I was in such a bad mood because I didn't have time to do any of the things I like that I couldn't concentrate on what I was reading.

It is my fault for not giving myself time, not even 10 minutes to at least draw or play in my art journal, for not giving myself the attention I needed when I had the opportunity to do so.

Lesson learned... Take time for yourself out of your day, every day for at least 10 minutes to do something you like. (Ideally I will increase this time daily :)

Learning To Be Myself

Yeah, that's right! I am 42 y. old and I am learning to be myself in a more profound way, I am learning to follow my path in life and discover what is my purpose here in this life, what am I here for? I believe that there is something else for me besides being a mom, a wife, a Cosmetologist and a Preschool teacher, I know there is more, I can feel it!

In result of all this I have decided to write about my life, my feelings and my thoughts as I wish... HERE in this blog.  I am always thinking of different things, planning what to do with my life  and my time, but I always keep it for myself and is getting to me now, I feel like I am always talking to myself, confusing myself with all this thoughts, so I thought if I write them down I'll stop all that confusion that is driving me crazy. Plus I can get somebody's input to what I have to say. I would love that!!! It would be like an interactive diary! (smiles) :)

How funny, when I was a kid and a teenager all my friends had diaries and I refused to have one. Hmmm...  and look at me now! It must be the midlife crisis lol I don't believe in that, ha!

Anyways. I LOVE blogging so this is perfect, for me at least lol Maybe that's the passion that I am looking for... writing about my life, how funny would that be, if that was the answer.  I like to do so many things that I already made a million plans in my head for all those things that I like :) but I'll write about them another time.

"Miracles Now" Gabrielle Bernstein at Wanderlust's Speakeasy

A letter for Gabby:

Your speech has come to me at the most amazing time. Today for the first time I told one of my coworkers that I am feeling disconnected, a word that I have never used before in my life! I've been trying to figure out my purpose for months and months and I've been feeling like an arrow without a target. But with your speech I am on my way to fulfill my life just be being present and see what God has for me and see where God takes me, without forcing myself to find my purpose. My job for now is to be the light everywhere I go. Thank you Gabby for sharing this and all of you with all of us :)

I made this QP layout for Monday Challenge

This is my daughter eating her favorite... Soup and Salad at Olive Garden :)

Reading the Bible Online with Audio

I've been wanting to read the Bible everyday, but I always had difficulty either understanding some of it or not concentrating on what I am reading and today I found a solution for it.

Maybe most of you already knew but I found out that Bible Gateaway has a Verse of the Day with an audio play, it plays the whole chapter and you can continue going if you would like.

This is definitely going to help me stay on track since I am trying to set a morning routine and keep my day organized and productive.

I hope this help somebody out there in my same situation :)
