I Have a Confession...And a Question for You :)

(Deep breath)...

I work part time and lately most of my time there I am thinking on coming home and doing art or scrapbooking which I haven't done in so many years. I am thinking on my blog and all the things that I like to do and I can share here.

I feel overwhelmed most of the time. there are so many things that I enjoy doing that my mind goes crazy, is spinning all the time. Is like that wheel for the setting that we have in our phone or tablet, but mine goes round and round where in every tiny turn there is an idea there of what I can do and make when I get home.

But then I come home and is like I am in shock. So many thoughts that I don't know where to start. My table is taken over with boxes of things that we, I mean... I need to clean up and I don't want to do it because it takes all my time. I know if I start doing it I eventually will finish it in a week or so but then my mind jumps somewhere else, thinking about house work and I don't feel happy doing art if my house in not all tidy... am I nuts?

On the other hand my boss tells me all the time that I am meant to do what I do at work. I am a preschool teacher and a few years ago I open a blog called Storytime Storytime and More, but then I stopped posting since my daughter grew up and the activities changed (now she is almost 10)

So tell me please,...What is wrong with me? (Sigh)... (Deep breath)...

I have two set of times for myself every day: one is in the morning from 5:45 am to 6:30 am and the other one is from 12:00pm to 2:30pm but then all I am thinking is about dinner housework laundry etc, etc, etc.

There have been times when I leave my personal things, like art journaling, sketching, etc, for after dinner but no, that doesn't work because I am not by myself at home. so I dedicated that time to either check my emails, maybe some crochet and read a book which has worked so far for me.

But what about my other two small set of times?

How do I take advantage of it for my passions?

Why do I feel so guilty or anxious about using my little time for what I like? Believe me I have read tons of self help books to help me with this but the overwhelmed and the confusion are still there :(

Does anybody have had this problem?

How did you overcome it?

Thanks for all the help I can get :)

Love,

A Light On My Path

Psalm 119:105

My daughter couldn't sleep a few nights ago, so I sat in her room keeping her company.
I saw her lamp and I started to draw it, it is much prettier than this.
But it seem so empty on the page so I added a Bible verse to it after I took the picture.
I thought this was the perfect on for it :) Psalm 119:105

Thanks for visiting :)

Navigating Life's Artful Pathways

I made this journal page to participate in the first week of Journal52 which prompt is pathways.

This took my mind directly to what I am trying to do this year.
Taking and exploring new path in my life
where I include art and Christianity, share it to the world and eventually teaching it :)

The journal says:

Psalm 32:8New Living Translation (NLT)

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life.
I will advise you and watch over you.

WOYWW #292 But My First One Ever

Welcome to my blog and my very first WOYWW desk hopping :)

Today I'm feeling brave to share my working area as it is :)

You can see that I am only sharing the visible corner of my table since that's all I have to work on right now :/ and the rest is taken over by boxes that we are trying to organize.

Anyways... in my work area I still have the layout that I shared in this blog a few days ago, but I've been working on another journal page which is not finished yet and was letting it dry.

There is also my daughter's table easel that I borrowed ;)
My hold it all fabric basket and
a new tin bucket that I got for Christmas with chocolates that I'm still thinking what to put there... Any ideas? Please share if you have one :)

Take care,

Art Journaling _ How to Face the Blank Page

It might seem scary to face that blank page at one point or another
but remember... it's your journal... you really don't have to show it to anybody.
With that in my mind, I manage to start doing art.
If I am using a journal that has thin pages I start by spreading a thin coat of gesso.

I remember at the begining I didn't even know what gesso was,
but I went and bought it and realized that it gives the paper the strengh to support all the paint and paper you are going to put on top of it.

Anyways... I always spread it with my fingers, that way it dryes quickly while I chose the paint or paper I am going to use in my art journal page.

For this one I spread different color acrylic paints, you can see I took red, teal, yellow and a little green.
While it was drying I started looking for pictures and words in a magazine that can describe my goals for this year, which are more like encouraging myself to come out of my shell and do what I want to do :)

I glue that pieces down to the page as my heart desired :)

And that's it. That's one of the ways I art journal.
I really don't plan the page, I let my heart take me and guide me through my art.
And if I like the outcome... I share it with the world lol

But since my word for this year is SHARE, I going a step further and share all of my work including steps by step process of them ;)

I hope with this I have helped many of you out there :)

Free Art Class Fearless Painting

I took my first step forward taking this free art class that Connie has
TOTAL ALIGNMENT :: FEARLESS® PAINTING CRASH COURSE
I have to tell you I love her personality, I love the way she teaches, just awesome!

I tell you, it took guts to show you my first attempt since this is not what I usually do,
since I am a scrapbooker I tend to do art in a very organize, trying to put things strategically placed on the page making it look pretty.

This is more of a LET GO kind of painting, come back to your childhood way of expressing yourself.
Very freeing, it left me with a feeling of I can do it all,
I don't care what people think about it lol
this is just me letting my inner child come out and play.
That part of my childhood that needed healing is getting the theraphy needed :0

(Sigh) Oh so peaceful
(Deep Breath) It feels so good :)

Now that I uploaded the picture a question came to my mind...
What does it mean?

If you have an answer please come and share with me I would love to hear what do you think :)

Take Care,

30 Day Journal

Wow! this is awesome!!!

I am participating in the 30-day-journal-project #30dayjournal

I just finished my Day 1 of the 30 day journal project, I hope I can stick with it too specially after I start working next week lol

I already discovered that I can just write and write and write as long as I have my ME time and space to do it. :) I tend to write like if I am talking to myself, hmmm... I know this is weird but that's how my writing flows so far lol

I am loving it!!!

Inspirational Video about the power of words
