#WOYWW 308 Soul Searching

This is my other work desk
where I sit, blog and read my emails.

I've been spending less time making art lately
since I've been doing some soul searching.

Seems likes this happens to me
from time to time, and I go into this deep thinking
that takes me back to my core values.

What is it that's really important to me?
and those kind of questions.
I love to read everything
that has to do with self growth
and I am coming to realize
that I've been spending my time
on things that are not in alignment with
who I am.

So you'll start seeing more of that.
A whole big mix of:

  1. what I do in my life
  2. what I do with my time
  3. what I do at work as a preschool teacher
  4.  and what I do with my free time (arts, crafts)
  5. what I cook, etc.

I also have come to realize
that I looooove to learn
and I love to teach
so I am going to start sharing here in my blog
everything that I learn by reading, by taking classes,
by experiences, by what life bring to me.

That said I want to encourage you to follow me
by signing up for email updates here in my blog
on the right hand side bar under my Google+ badge
or
follow me on Google+
Instagram

I really appreciate you taking the time to read this
hope to see you soon

How to DIY Styrofoam Stamps

Here is a close up of my #DIY #foam tray #stamps

Very easy to make.

Take the #Styrofoam vegetable trays
cut the edges off, so you have a flat surface
using a pencil of a pen, start making a design on your plate
(the more you push down the better impression you are going to get)
Once your drawing or design is done
you can start #printing
put paint on it with a brayer or a brush
but a brayer works better
and start printing away :)

Very easy #craft that you can make with your kids
it would make an original #Mother'sday card, too :)

#WOYWW 307 #DIY Foam #Stamps

Good Morning everyone :)

Here is what I am working on lately
I am making some artsy #postcards,
I got into some #art swaps and
I love what I am getting.
I'll start taking pictures of them and share :)

Today on my table you see that I made my own
foam stamps using those vegetable foam trays.
I have a lot more, which I'll share soon too :)

The #sketchbook you see here is where I put the #postcard
to work on, that way all the extra paint doesn't go to waist
and I can use it as a #background for more art later.

Also come and take look at the
glass jar #crochet covers :)
I made a couple of days ago :)

Thanks for visiting :)

Crochet Jar Cover

First of all let me say Thank you to +The laughing Sheep
for teaching me how to make this awesome crochet jar covers.

In my opinion they are absolutely adorable
and now that I made one,
I am hooked :)

I can make them over and over again.
I have saved so many of those glass jars...

Now that I can make the covers
I can keep on saving them and put them to good use :)

Thank you for visiting my blog :)

Art Journal Diary - Pattern Making

A few nights ago, I couldn't sleep
I went to my living room
and started drawing randomly
repeating to make a pattern.

I first started with the swirls (the roses)
then the stem and leaves
after that I started with the red part
then I made some shadow like to cover the white areas
and the rest came little by little.

I love patterns.

But I know myself
and I would like to put this pattern to good use.
so let me ask you:

What would you do with it, if this was yours?

Thank you for visiting me :)

#WOYWW 306 Trying New Things in my Art Journal Diary

A mess lol
That's what's on my workdesk :)
I've been trying new things with art journaling
I am actually going to add journaling
to those pages you see there.

I usually clean my brushes in loose piece of paper
or in a spiral art journal.
After that page is full of paint
I use it as a ephemera to decorate my art journal pages.
I tore up the paper in little pieces
and add it to the art journal that I am working on,
and that's what you see here.
The only thing I would do different next time
is prep my page putting gesso first :)

See you around :)

Art Journal Notes - Organize Your Life With a Daily Routine

The more I read, the more I realize how important it is to organize your daily.
I discovered that having a daily routine helps you be more effective with your goals.

In this journal page I made some notes of the things that are important for me.
Which I want to incorporate in my daily routine.

I didn't write some of the specific things like:
Exercise
Meditate
Educate myself some more by listening to health summits or seminars
Write everyday, I love writing I just don't know if anybody cares about what I have to write lol
Make art
Read
Write on my Gratitude Journal and
Have quality time with my daughter.

Besides all this I have what I do everyday,
cook breakfast, lunch and dinner, yeah! everyday...
Go shopping
housework,
take care of my pets (a bunny and a Golden Retriever :)
work part time,
take my daughter to school
and pick her up.

I know that besides all this things that I already do everyday, is going to be hard to incorporate some more because my day is already busy. But lately I've been curious how others do it. And listening to some people here and there and reading some self help books, I come to find out that it is possible. There is a way. I've been trying it out by putting in practice a mix of different advice and it's working so far.

I'll write about this in another post :)

Thank you for visiting me :)

Art Journal and Mixed Media with Kids #WOYWW 305

What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday?
on going at Stamping Ground
hosted by Julia

Well, seems like a lot is going on here,
the sketchbook/art journal that you see on the side
with the blue heart on it is my daughter's
She loves art and we try to do art together once in a while.

Also on my desk is my art journal
that's the page I am currently working on.

An old fairies book that was given to me,
it was scratched inside, so perfect for mixed media :)

My gelatos that I haven't open yet lol

And my carousel that I finally started putting things there.
I am filling it up as I work on my scrapbooks
making easier for myself to find things for scrapbooking again.

And the rest is just clutter that I have to clean.

I guess a clutter table
means a busy table :)

Let's blog hop and see other's desks :)

Art Journal Diary - My Heart Wants...

In one of the many seminars I hear,
I was said that to have a vision
you need to know:

What does your heart want right now?

and It got me thinking:

I figure I follow my heart.

"I want to make art"

That's what I've been wanting lately
and I've been fighting it for a while.

Why?

Because to me it just didn't have a purpose.

I asked myself many times...
If I make art, if I start an art journal,
What do I do with it?

The answer so far is keep it.
just keep it for now.

I have found that art is therapy
Art is medicine.
Art gives me time with myself.
and I am not fighting it anymore.

I Am Part of 21 Secrets Spring - Art is Medicine - Art Journal Page

I am super excited to be part of 21 Secrets Spring
thanks to a giveaway hosted by Carolyn Dube.

This for me is like a dream come true.

The first class I chose to take was:
Art Your Way Through the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Really easy to follow step by step instructions.
Very exciting to see the different ways to do art
and express yourself.

This is what I came up with
following her tutorial and advise :)

This is what I am finding out lately

ART IS MEDICINE :)

March Tag Swap

Oh my! I completely forgot to show you what I made for
the March tag swap that was going on at Creating and Sharing Mixed Media Art
by the way, they have one every month.

This is the tag I made:

I mailed a few days ago, I know she got it already :)
and is safe to share here :)

Here is the picture with the tassel added to it.

The photo is a little blurry, I noticed it too late,
I couldn't take the picture again since I already sent it :)

I hope you like it,
and inspires you to do some art :)

Take care,
